Why We Make a Tea Blend for Immune Support

Along with cleaning up our diets, our family has been using some natural remedies to support our immune systems. We’ve enjoyed making homemade elderberry syrup and this cold remedy tea blend.
I would describe the flavor of this tea as earthy and floral with a hint of sourness. Each tea in this recipe serves a purpose.
*You’ll want to be sure to consult a health professional before adding any herbs or medicinal foods to your diet.
The astragalus root helps with immune function by increasing white blood cell count and may also have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Rose hips are high in vitamin C and antioxidants.
And echinacea may be particularly helpful, not so much as a preventative measure, but to stimulate the immune system during a cold or flu.
I can say personally, our illnesses have had a much shorter duration this winter than in previous years, which I’m sure can be attributed to the lifestyle changes we’ve made!
Where to Buy Loose Teas for a Cold Remedy Tea Blend
Echinacea and Rose Hips from Azure Standard
I source most of my loose leaf teas in bulk from Azure Standard. We actually order many of our staple foods from Azure Standard to our local drop site almost monthly.
Every tea I’ve purchased from them has been so fresh and aromatic. Here are links to the organic echinacea root (cut and sifted) and the organic rose hips, cut and sifted if you want to try them.
Use my Azure Standard affiliate link and enter the code NEW15 at checkout for 15% off your first order over $100 delivered to your drop location of choice.
Astragalus Root from Amazon
I purchase the organic astragalus root, cut and sifted from Amazon. Azure Standard carries only powdered astragalus which isn’t as appropriate for brewing tea.
Not only do I use the rose hips and astragalus in this cold remedy tea blend, but I also use them in my elderberry syrup!
I discovered disposable unbleached tea bags on Amazon as well. I fill them with my favorite teas to have on the ready for brewing a quick cup later.
This system has been especially nice when we are actually ill and need to make a cup of the tea without much effort.
It’s not too difficult to just measure out the teas when you want to brew a cup, or you could mix a whole jar of this tea (insuring you like it) to scoop a serving from when you need it.
I hope this cold remedy tea helps you this season!
